Cameroid Allows You to Take Funky Pictures Directly From Your Browser

Cameroid-Photobooth Cameroid is a web service which allows you to take photographs directly from your browser. But, that is quite ordinary isn’t it? Cameroid clearly doesn’t believe in being ordinary. What makes Cameroid special are the spectacularly funky special effects you can apply to your photographs.

Cameroid includes 36 different effects – from the mundane like photo frame to bizarre like alien spaceship and Mona Lisa. In order to use Cameroid, all you need is a web cam and a browser with Flash plug-in installed. The effects are grouped into four categories – Filter, Distort, Scenes and Frames. Using Cameroid is as simple as selecting an effect and clicking on the camera icon.

Once you have snapped an image, you can save it in the public Cameroid gallery (requires registration), download it as a JPG file or print it. Cameroid is similar to Apple Photobooth and Cheese. However, its biggest advantage is that it doesn’t require any special software (which also makes it multi-platform). It’s the easiest way to create and share groovy head shots.
