Sony Ericsson XPERIA Rachael – The Android Phone We have Been Waiting For

Andriod fans around the world were ecstatic when Sony Ericsson revealed that they are working on an Andriod device. Earlier this week we got the first glimpse of the device courtsey of leaked pictures and video. As far as first impressions go, Sony Ericsson’s Andriod device called XPERIA Rachael appears to be awesome.
Here are a couple of the leaked pictures.

Sony Ericsson XPERIA Rachael

XPERIA Rachael is not just another pretty phone. As you would expect from a top of the line phone like XPERIA there is some real power underneath the hood. The phone is based on the Qualcomm QSD8250 Snapdragon platform that provides a 1GHz CPU and dedicated graphics acceleration. It is expected to have a 8 mega-pixel camera with autofocus. All standard connectivity options including Wi-Fi, GPS and 3G with HSDPA will be present. Not much is known about the screen (other than it is a touch screen). However, a video of the user-interface was leaked. The video resolution was 852 x 480 pixels which means that the screen will have a 16:9 aspect ratio and the possible resolution is 852 x 480 pixels. If that is indeed the case then Rachael will feature the highest resolution screen on a mobile device so far. Check out the user interface video. I have only one word for it – stunning!

Thanks. The expectations for this phone will be sky high. Hopefully Sony won’t try to cut corners and will deliver a complete phone unlike N97.
Things like capacitive touch screen (esp when there isnt any external keypad) can make a big difference.

XPERIA from Sony was one of the classic device, stylish, sleek and new concept design. That is an amazing news that XPERIA and android together can’t wait to unveil :)

It’s funny reading back the comments on this phone from last year. In my opinion the Xperia was a bit of a flop. In fairness to Sony Ericsson it was as you rightly said there first Android handset. I’ll give them credit on the Sony Ericsson X8 though. An absolutely brilliant piece of hardware. I look forward to there future releases, hopefully they will gain some traction returning to there former brilliance.
