Optimise Your System for Gaming with Game Booster

Game Booster - Increase Your Game's Frame Rate Modern day games are resource hungry giants which require every ounce of your computer’s resources. However, the fact is that most of the casual gamers have systems which are just not optimised for gaming. Windows itself comes with a bunch of additional services which are not essential for the functioning of the system, but are present to provide additional functionalities. On top of that users have other services such as antivirus software, unnecessary driver agents etc running in the background. These processes use up a fair amount of system memory as well as some computing power.

Game Booster is a freeware from IOBits which attempts to boost your games performance by maximising the amount of system resource available to games. Game Booster allows you to optimise your system for gaming with the click of a button. When you enable gaming mode it disables all unnecessary services and processes and cleans your RAM. It also gives the user the option to close user applications running in the background.

Boost Your Games Frame Rate with Game Booster

Game Booster really works. The difference won’t be dramatic (but significant enough to be noticeable in most cases) and results may vary. Depending how optimised your system is you can get 2-5 FPS boost. Game Booster itself is extremely light-weight (consumes less than 2MB of RAM) and sits quietly in the system tray while you enjoy your gaming session. After you are done with gaming simply click on “Back to Normal Mode” and Game Booster will revert all changes. Since all the changes are temporary, it is safe to use. In fact this approach is better than permanently disabling services like Themes via services.msc. Game Booster is a highly recommended software and anyone looking to get a frame rate boost without spending additional amount on hardware should give it a try.

Well i have used the software a month ago and i was not at all impressed with it, there was only 2 to 3 fps increase in counterstrike and fifa (source: fraps)

You should have a reasonable expectation from a software like this.
As I mentioned, in most cases you will notice a 2-5 fps increase. The increase might be higher if you have a lot of unnecessary applications running and chose to shut them down using Game Booster.

Without changing your hardware this is about as good an increase you are likely to get. For years people have tweaked there computers to gain an extra 1fps, this program simply does a lot of the tweaking for you.
Rather than running a stripped down dedicated gaming computer you can now use this software on any computer to get you to a “bare bones” state.
I’ve blogged about it before and use it to increase the life of my laptop battery (running less processes = less power).
I can’t recommend it enough really. Nice review Pallab!

It definitely saves a lot of hassle. I used to save separate user account for playing games. In fact when I used to have XP I would use SparkleXP to create a separate account with absolutely bare minimums running in the background.
