Clicky Gone is an Application Window and Taskbar Tab Hider. It’s a tiny utility that accomplishes three main tasks:
Hide Taskbar Tabs: Heavy multitaskers would definitely appreciate this feature. Clicky Gone allows you to instantly remove taskbar tabs or buttons. The hidden entries are accessible through the Clicky Gone context menu. This reduces taskbar clutter by removing non-critical programs (like media player) from the taskbar. Clicky Gone also gives you the option of displaying the hidden tabs as system tray icons instead of stuffing all of them inside the Clicky Gone menu.
Hide Application Window: Clicky Gone also acts as a Boss Key program. You can hide any window by using configurable hotkeys. The hidden window keeps running in the background and can be brought back by using the hotkey again or through the Clicky Gone menu. I recently reviewed another Boss Key application – Chameleon 2. This functionality is similar to Chameleon’s. However, Clicky Gone additionally gives you the option to mute your system side when the boss key is used. You don’t want the audio to give away what you were watching in Media Player just before your boss arrived at your desk.

Focus on Active Window: This is a new feature in Clicky Gone. You can set various transparency levels for inactive windows, thus ensuring that your focus remains only on the active window. It also makes it easier to distinguish the currently active window.
Clicky Gone is a simple yet efficient application. The interface is pretty basic and almost all its functions are performed through configurable hotkeys. Clicky Gone is also available as a portable application (doesn’t require installation), which is an added bonus. I will end by saying, Clicky Gone is a fantastic application with a neat range of features. In fact this tiny utility packs in features otherwise offered by two or three separate utilities. Give it a try.
