I have previously used superantispyware to reverse the changes made by malware (there are some options in the menu's that cover task manager enabling etc). This may be a slightly neater approach. But rest assued this isn't one (it isn't even an AV software). Its open source so you can go through the code if you like..plus is certified as clean by Softpedia.
