3 Websites and 2 Softwares for All Your Subtitle Needs
If you are a movie buff like me who watches a lot of foreign movies (totally off topic - please do watch 4 months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days), then this post is for you. I present before you three websites and 2 software to help you hunt down that elusive subtitle.
Podnapisi.net : This is the first place I visit whenever I need a subtitle. The major advantage podnapisi has above other subtitle services is the awesome search engine. The search engine allows you to search for subtitles based on criteria that actually matters. This is the best option for TV Show buffs, as podnapisi allows you to locate subtitle for a specific episode from a specific season easily. However, you may not always find the subtitle you were looking for over here. In case that happens try your luck at the next two sites.

OpenSubtitles.org : OpenSubtitles.org is one of the largest online repositories of subtitle. OpenSubtitles also has a powerful search engine with many features like searching for subtitles from movies with imdb rating greater than a specified value. One of the coolest features of OpenSubtitles is multisearch, which allows you to search subtitles for several movies/tv shows at a go. OpenSubtitles has clearly gone that extra mile to make locating subtitles easier for you, apart from the software solution (covered later in this article) OpenSubtitles also offers a widget for Opera, Extension for Firefox, Addon for Internet Explorer and an iGoogle gadget.

Allsubs.org : My final recommendation is allsubs.org. With close to seven hundred thousand subs, allsubs.org is one of the largest subtitles website on the internet and is the place you should check if you cant find the sub you are looking for at other places. In spite of being extremely exhaustive allsubs.org lands at the bottom of my list due to it’s interface. It lacks advanced search feature and to download a subtitle you would need to open multiple pages and deal with a captcha. Allsubs.org allows you to preview a subtitle before downloading it, but it’s something I can live without since subtitle files are normally very small and take only seconds to download.
SubDownloader : SubDownloader is an Open Source initiative supported by OpenSubtitles.org. It can download subtitles for multiple movies at a time. The best feature is the ability to use hash-checking to automatically detect the video file details.
Download Movie Subtitles : It’s a light weight program with an extremely ugly interface. It’s also very basic and allows you to search only based on the movie name. But it did manage to find the subtitle I was looking for on most of the occasions.
Dont forget to share your favourite subtitle websites.

i’ve always used subscene dot com it was really good finding what i need
I find SubtitleSource.org to be very useful and with a good interface. Much better than podnapisi, expecially fot tv series.
I tried SubtitleSource.
I tried downloading a serial for Rome. First it displayed a page with all shows the search threw up, then it displayed another page details about the show and only after that did it display the subtitles. And even then they werent organised episode wise, and I found many s2 subs categorised under s1.
Actually I found this more inconvinient than say opensubtitles.
sounds strange to me. uhm. but then, again, many to choose from
Subscene is also a very good site.
thanks for podnapisi
