Signal Patterns – Discover Yourself (Invites Available)

Signal Patterns - Discover the real me

Personality analysis tests are certainly nothing new. But Signal Pattern is attempting to take it to the next level by making the process more scientific, detailed and social. After having completed the test, I would definitely admit that it’s one of the most detailed personality assessment test I have ever taken. In fact I doubt that many people would even have the patience to answer all 100 questions.

One unique characteristic of Signal Patterns is that instead of rigidly classifying you into group x or group y, it attempts to analyze the prominence of 45 unique traits in your personality. After you complete the survey you would be provided a visual representation of the top 10 traits (or all 45 if you wish) accompanied by a lengthy text explaining the traits in greater detail. Signal Patterns then takes it to the next step by making the whole process more social in true Web 2.0 style. You can invite your friends and compare each other’s personality. Again, Signal Patterns impresses with it’s advanced reporting options. There are three reporting modes which allows you to discover your similarities as well dissimilarities with your friend.

Signal Patterns currently allows you to associate your SP profile with your Facebook, Myspace, Last.fm and Flickr profile. However, complete integration is available only for Facebook. You can invite your friends from these services and compare each other’s profile. Although similar Facebook applications (such a Likeness) do exist, Signal Patterns stands out due to its advanced personality analysis. You can also invite contacts from your yahoo, gmail or windows live mail account. But, surprisingly the friends you invite via email aren’t automatically listed under your connections. Only Facebook contacts are visible under connections.

A part from the Personality Patterns survey, Signal Patterns also features a music patterns survey. This is also a rather lengthy test, during which you would be asked to rate more than thirty song clippings. More tests will be added in the future.

Signal Patters is currently in Private beta and is invite only. If you wish to join Signal Patterns simply leave a comment. I will try to send an invite asap. If you do join, don’t forget to share your impressions and post your profile links. My profile link as well as survey results are attached below. I found the Signal Patterns character trait analysis to be quite accurate. Do share you opinions.
