I don’t believe you need anything stronger than Akismet, depending on the size of your site/blog. I have always stuck with the tried and true. Good post, glad to know there are options out there. I personally have not even looked around.

Akismet has become a lot crappy these days. Defensio is good

tried defensio when i was using wordpress . did good job blocking spam .
but i think askimet is much simpler

I have never seen beyond akismet..but it looks like these one are far better then akismet.
